These bracelets are hand beaded by Inga Awaska, a beading and cultural workshop made up of Indigenous Inga women in Putumayo, Colombia.
Filled with intricate, detailed, and storytelling symbolism that expresses Inga culture & heritage.
The symbol showed in these earrings is called "Sarra", meaning "maiz" or "corn" in the Inga language. It is an important symbol for the community considering that corn is a staple food! This is one of their newer designs they came out with, and it definitely showcases a beautiful mix of both modern and traditional touches.
