Flor Barrette ✻ Embera Beaded Hair Barrettes

These hair barrettes are handmade by Embera Chami artisan group Asociaciòn de artesanas
Imaginando con las Manos in Jardín, Antioquia, Colombia.  Each pair is woven using a needle thread technique. Any design can take anywhere from 1-4 days to make. 

Each color, shape, and symbol is an inside look into their day-to-day life, spiritual world, and environment

Here's a quick guide on some of the symbolism used:

💠 Diamond shapes signify the 4 seasons

⭕ Circles mean unity, community, gathering

☁️ White reflects clouds and peace

🌊 Blue represents rivers, oceans, and the sky

🤎 Brown signifies the earth

and so forth!
